Our RE topic this time is all about Energy and how Christians believe that the gift of the Holy Spirit within them gives them the energy and the power to live the way of Jesus. There will be lots of art work and DT during this topic.

We are continuing our Egyptian topic and we have arranged a trip to Hancock Museum on the 9th May-letter to follow. We will be doing explanation texts next week in English, so your children will be able to tell you how to mummify a person. We had fun turning our friends into mummies this week.

 

In maths, we have been multiplying numbers and solving problems involving groups of and times. Rock star maths has really improved their multiplication.

Swimming is going really well and the children are becoming confident swimmers.

The children are really enjoying our forces and magnets in science and had fun forcing magnets together and apart.

We have come to the end of our ‘Giving All’ topic in RE. We have been celebrating that Jesus has Risen from the dead.

In Science, we have been investigating pushing and pulling as part of our Forces topic. We had to push different coins across the table and measure how far they went. We did a fair test.

In Maths, we have explore lines of symmetry and translation of shapes. We really enjoyed this work.

In English, we have continued with Myths and Legends and we have written our own interpretation of Pandora’s Box. The children have written in the past tense and have included lovely grammar work.

We are learning to walk like an Egyptian, we have some excellent dancers in our class.
